Gian Raffaele DiCostanzo is a New York City-based  actor best known for his turn as Frankie Valli in the hit musical Jersey Boys.

DiCostanzo's early stage work began with Nickelodeon's PAW Patrol Live! “The Great Pirate Adventure" National Tour originating the role of Tracker. As a part of the original cast, Gian helped develop the show in its early stages with director Roy Luthringer and choreographer Cheryl Baxter. DiCostanzo was one of the show’s major puppeteers and later used these skills in Take the Plunge with John Tartaglia Productions helmed by renowned director and choreographer Shannon Lewis. Gian also had a hand in developing and starring in Turn it Up!, an “environmentally-friendly” stage show written by Emmy Award-Nominated screenwriter Paris Qualles with music by Grammy Award-Winner Jeff Bova.

 

As a graduate from Emerson College with a degree in Theatre & Performance, Gian worked and learned under the direction of Scott LaFeber in the Strasberg Method and under Amelia Broome in the Linklater Method. Stage Combat training under Ted Hewlett with on-camera studies led by Ken Cheeseman and Theodore Life, director of Sesame Street. 

 

In 2019 ​DiCostanzo began his journey with the Tony-Winning musical, Jersey Boys, onboard Norwegian Cruise Lines, set by original team members Richard Hester, Danny Austin, & Bryan Hindle. DiCostanzo has been featured at several theatres across the country where he has worked under the direction of and in collaboration with Broadway and Entertainment veterans including Matt Bogart, Richard H. Blake, Nick Blaemire, Candi Boyd, Abbey O’Brien, Donny Most, Judy Norton, and the Tony Award-Nominated Marcia Milgrom Dodge.

On-screen, Gian starred in a short film for Giorgio Armani’s “Films of City” Frames and most recently had a large supporting role in the independent short film “Cheers to the Governor!” starring Kellan Rude and directed by Billie Frank Smith. DiCostanzo has also been featured in several commercials for companies including Cadillac, Google Fi, Etsy, and Meta. 

In New York City, he was a cast member of the professional improv troupe Eight is Never Enough as well as a frequent performer at legendary cabaret venues like The Laurie Beechman, Birdland, and Don't Tell Mama. DiCostanzo has also been recognized for his work in the cabaret community as a MAC Award-Nominated member of the Manhattan Association of Cabarets.

 

With a solid foundation of character voices and a wide vocal range, DiCostanzo quickly found himself engrossed in voiceover work. His voice can be heard as the title character in the hit children's podcast Safety Sheriff Labrador as well as in YouTube videos in collaboration with SportTechie and The Smithsonian's Lemelson Center

 

DiCostanzo rounds out his multi-hyphenate abilities as a lighting designer, a sound technician, and a musician— playing trumpet, piano and guitar
