Tasteful Tunes and Good Eats
It's been a whirlwind of a week! We started out in Johnson City, Tennessee where we played in a high school arena on a giant campus. I had a really nice meal at Cafe Lola, but otherwise we sort of just relaxed.
THEN we got to Nashville and had a blast! One of our cast members, Zach, went to school in Nashville so he took us out to explore on Thursday. We visited the Parthenon - a full-scale replica built for the 1913 Worlds Fair. Super impressive! We had awesome burgers at a place called The Pharmacy, and then we explored the Gaylord Opry Hotel - a huge hotel/convention center with topiary gardens. I felt like I was in Disney World!
On Friday I had breakfast at Biscuit Love and it was delicious. Then we explored the Broadway area and listened to local country bands play all afternoon. Later we went to see the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium. We saw 12 different acts ranging from all genres of country music: bluegrass, contemporary, pop, classic, etc. There was so much music history and it was a wonderful experience! We got to see the Gaither Vocal Band who I really loved.
The next day we had three shows at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. It's a beautiful theatre with a huge stage! The next day though I decided to swing out because I hurt my ankle and needed a break. I'm hoping to be back in full swing with the shows this week! I ended my time in Tennessee by going out for a nice meal at Merchants with Jordan and Caileigh; it was a great way to wrap up the weekend!
Nashville was my favorite city so far, but I'm looking forward to performing in my hometown in just a few weeks! Check out some pictures from this week below:
